United StatesDishwashing Pods - RUINED MY POTS !
I just had a look over the Dropps website to se if I had missed any warning... no, there isn't any advisory warning. I have a classic set of Farberware Pans which have been in perfect condition since I got them so many decades ago. I have never lived in a house with a dishwasher and so these were washed by hand until about three years ago. After installing a new dishwasher, I tried a variety of machine soaps in the beginning but quickly settled on DROPPS pods because they really did clean well. Now after a few years, I am seeing the disintegration of the cladding on the bottom side of my pans - DROPPS soap pods ARE STRIPPING AWAY THE BOTTOM HEAT-DISTRIBUTION LAYER. Pretty soon all that will be left is the thin stainless steel layer. KEEP YOUR PANS OUT OF YOUR DISHWASHER. I didn't grow up with a dishwasher - And all the dishwashers I've ever seen have a "pots" setting... Why would I think I couldn't put my pots and pans in the dishwasher?? DROPPS owes me a new set of pans. PICS IN ORDER OR DEMISE: 1) pot #1 -- usually hand washed because it's a very large pot = very little wear, in fact you can see the previous "dirt that doesn;t cm off the bottom easily with hand washing 2) pot #2 -- the bottom of this pot used to look like Pic 1 - a bit grungy - and I was happy to see that the dishwasher could clean the bottom better than had scrubbing, but then the stamped logo started to fade and you can see (arrow) where the stainless steel under-layer is starting to show through 3) pot #3 -- this has the most wear - shiny patches of stainless are clearly visible -- the logo is nearly gone and the cladding is disintegrating I WILL BE CANCELLING ALL MY DROPPS SUBSCRIPTIONS -- dishwasher AND laundry I Sincerely hope that someone from Dropps will be contacting me to assist me with purchase of replacement pans -- I'm only asking for TWO PANS to be replaced.
